Get a quoteHow it works in three steps
- 1
You buy and pay the shop yourself
Order online or by message, pay the shop directly, and ask them to deliver to our Ho Chi Minh City warehouse with your name on the parcel. Shops in other provinces send it by domestic courier.
- 2
We receive, photograph and consolidate
We check each parcel against what you ordered and send you photos. Orders from several shops are held and repacked into one shipment.
- 3
We ship it to you
Your shipment flies out of Tan Son Nhat through the DHL, FedEx and UPS networks with export paperwork done and tracking from the day it leaves.
Our receiving address
Gateway Express, 72/5 Giai Phong, Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Message us before you order and we'll give you the exact recipient line and a reference to put on the parcel, so we can match it to you the moment it arrives.
How do I pay the shop?
You pay the shop directly. We don't buy on your behalf and we don't pay sellers for you, so the purchase, the receipt and any return stay between you and the shop. Many Vietnamese websites refuse foreign cards, but most shops will take another route if you message them:
- PayPal, if the shop has an account
- Wise or another transfer service paying into a Vietnamese bank account
- An international bank transfer
- A friend or relative in Vietnam who pays for you
If the shop is outside Ho Chi Minh City, add the domestic shipping to our warehouse to what you pay the shop.
Paying our fees
We send an itemised invoice once you've approved the quote, and you pay by bank transfer to our company account. We don't take card payments and never ask for card details. Wise is usually cheaper and faster than a standard SWIFT transfer; if you use your bank, choose the option where you cover the transfer charges so the invoice is paid in full.
Pricing: quoted before you commit
You pay a fixed handling fee for each parcel we receive, plus freight by weight to your country. We don't charge a percentage of what you paid the shop. Both parts are quoted before you commit, so you know the total before your order leaves Vietnam. To see freight for your weight and destination now, use our online shipping quote tool.
Duties and taxes at your end
United States
You choose. With duties paid (DDP) we settle US duty before delivery, and the shipment takes about 15-19 days. With duties unpaid (DAP) it takes about 5-8 days and you pay any duty to the carrier on delivery. Our guide to the cost of shipping from Vietnam to the US explains what drives the price.
United Kingdom, EU and Australia
Shipments go duties unpaid: you pay VAT and any duty to the carrier on delivery. We estimate those charges for you before you commit, so there's no surprise at the door. If you need duties paid for a particular shipment, ask and we'll quote it separately.
Food and FDA for US shipments
Chili sauce, fish sauce, snacks, tea and coffee are some of the most requested items, and food going to the United States needs FDA Prior Notice. We check your items against FDA requirements and advise you on Prior Notice and the paperwork before anything ships. If you're importing food to resell, the manufacturer also needs an FDA food facility registration, which only the manufacturer can hold. Read FDA Prior Notice for food shipped from Vietnam for the detail, and our guide to shipping Vietnamese coffee if coffee is what you're after.
What we can't ship
Air courier rules are stricter than airline baggage rules. Meat products, fresh food, plants and seeds, loose lithium batteries, aerosols and protected wildlife products are refused or heavily restricted. Check anything you're unsure about in the prohibited items checker before you order, or read what you can and can't bring home from Vietnam to the US.
Reordering from a Hoi An tailor
Had clothes made in Hoi An and want more? You don't need to fly back. Send your tailor your measurements or a garment to copy, pay them directly, and have them send the order to our warehouse. See shipping from Hoi An for how the reorder works.
Frequently asked questions
Can you buy it for me or pay the shop for me?
No. You buy directly from the shop and have it delivered to our address. That way the purchase, the receipt and any return stay between you and the seller. Many Vietnamese shops accept PayPal, Wise or an international bank transfer if you ask them, and a friend or relative in Vietnam can also pay on your behalf.
How do I buy things from Vietnam online and get them shipped?
Order from the Vietnamese shop and pay them yourself, then ask the shop to deliver to our Ho Chi Minh City warehouse with your name on the parcel. We receive it, send you photos, pack and consolidate everything, and ship it to you through the DHL, FedEx and UPS networks. You approve our quote before anything ships.
Can I pay your fees without giving you my card?
Yes. We never take card details. For our shipping and handling fees we send an itemised invoice and you pay by bank transfer to our company account. Wise or your bank's international transfer both work. You only pay after you've approved the quote.
The shop is outside Ho Chi Minh City. Can you still receive it?
Yes. The shop packs your order and sends it by domestic courier to our Ho Chi Minh City warehouse, and it flies out from Tan Son Nhat. You pay that domestic shipping to the shop together with your order; we do not collect it for them.
Will I have to pay customs duties or VAT?
It depends on the destination and the value, and we tell you before you commit. For the United States you can choose duties paid (DDP), which is slower, or duties unpaid (DAP), which is faster. For the United Kingdom, the EU and Australia, VAT and duty are normally paid by you on delivery, and we estimate them upfront.
Can you ship sauces, snacks or coffee to the US?
Usually, yes. Food going to the United States needs FDA Prior Notice. We check your items against FDA requirements and advise you on Prior Notice and the paperwork before anything ships. Meat products, fresh food and anything homemade or unlabelled are the items most likely to be refused.
Can you find a supplier for me?
We're a shipper, not a sourcing agent, so we don't search for suppliers. Once you have one, they deliver to our Ho Chi Minh City warehouse and we ship to you, including the commercial invoice for a business import.
How much does it cost?
You pay a fixed handling fee per parcel we receive, plus freight by weight to your country. We never charge a percentage of what you paid the shop. Both are quoted before you commit, and you can check freight for your weight and destination with our online quote tool.
Can I order from several shops and ship everything together?
Yes. Have each shop deliver to our warehouse, and we hold the parcels until everything has arrived, then repack them into one shipment so you pay freight once. Tell us how many parcels to expect when you ask for a quote.
Can I reorder from my Hoi An tailor after I get home?
Yes. Contact your tailor, send your measurements or a garment to copy, and pay them directly. The tailor sends the finished order to our Ho Chi Minh City warehouse and we ship it to you.
